RETScreen: Training Materials [Webpage]

by

The RETScreen Clean Energy Project Analysis Course has been created for use by educational centres and training organisations around the globe, as well as for use by professionals and students in “self-study” distance learning format. Each training module can be presented as a separate seminar or workshop, or as a section of a college or university course. The following groups of materials are made available on this website:  Clean energy project analysis; Energy efficiency; Heating / Cooling; Power; Combined heat & power (Cogeneration).

RETScreen: Clean Energy Project Analysis Training Series

by

This e-textbook includes several modules encompassing project analysis with RETScreen, a decision support tool for clean energy project analysis, which provides greenhouse gas emissions analysis, financial and risk analysis, and other topics. The online training modules and the program itself are free of charge. In-person training sessions are also available at no charge.

RETScreen: Clean Energy Policy Analysis with RETScreen

by

This webinar introduces RETScreen, a tool to analyze the viability of clean energy projects for planning, designing, implementing, and reviewing the viability of clean energy policies. RETScreen allows participants in the policy process to consider the technology, business, and finance of clean energy in an integrated fashion, thus helping to develop appropriate policies. The model is available in 36 languages covering 2/3 of the Earth’s population.

HOMER: New Video Training: Learn to use the HOMER renewable energy design tool

by

This video provides training on the basic concepts of HOMER, focusing on the key aspects of using HOMER Software for designing and analyzing renewable energy solutions for telecom tower sites, including how to understand the key design elements to optimize green power design and optimize CAPEX required for deploying green power on networks. The training is divided into the following four modules: Module 1 – Site Selection and Energy Optimization; Module 2 – Green Power design using HOMER Software; Module 3 – Solution analysis and Selection; and Module 4 – Business Case Analysis.

HOMER Software Training Guide for Renewable Energy Base Station Design

by

This presentation provides an introduction and step-by-step user instruction on how to use the HOMER model, a free software application developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). HOMER allows users to design and technically and financially evaluate options for off-grid and on-grid power systems for remote, stand-alone and distributed generation applications. It also provides step -by-step model instructions for using the applications.

The Geospatial Toolkit: Using Renewable Energy Resource Data and Geospatial Analysis to Explore Clean Energy Opportunities

by

The purpose of these training materials is to provide an introduction of and detailed hands-on training on the Geospatial Toolkit, with the intent of informing users on how to use this tool to explore low emission development and clean energy issues. The guidance and exercises provided in this presentation are intended to guide users through the installation, use, and application of the Geospatial Toolkit on their own computers.
