Electric Capital management on behalf of the African mini-Grids Community of Practice, part of the Africa Low Emissions Development Strategies Partnership (AfLP) and the Low EmissionsĀ Development Strategies Global Partnership (LEDS) prepared the paper on smart incentives for mini-grids. This paper focuses on the key building blocks of mini-grid tariff and subsidy policy design. It serves as a guide to policy makers and contains lessons learned from early mover countries; provides an annotated resource list of key publications and studies that have been published on these issues; includes information on several toolkits that can be utilised to inform the assessment of tariffs and subsidies.
