The UNFCCC published a special report in the impacts of global warming of 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels and related global response to the threat of climate change, sustainable development, and efforts to eradicate poverty. The outlines were approved following the discussions held during the 44th session of the IPCCC, which convened form 17-20 October 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand that brought together over 300 participants from 109 countries. The report signifies that the IPCC can already begin its work on scientific assessment for policymakers of understanding 1.5°C warming and its implications.
