The private sector is well recognized for its role in transforming local economies towards low carbon economy as well as taking adaptation measures. As such, private sector participation in the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) is viewed as a high priority.
During the workshop, the panel will discuss the role of climate resilient and low carbon technologies within the region. Although there is a steady increase of these technologies, their full deployment is still constrained due to both institutional and investment barriers. The experts will outline how the Climate Technology Centre and Network was set up to help countries, businesses, and industry in breaking down those barriers whilst creating enabling environments for financing. The workshop will provide participants with insights on CTCN services for unlocking barriers within Asia and showcase regional examples of joining technology developers with financiers.
The workshop is being held in conjunction with the CTCN Regional Forum for National Designated Entities (NDEs) from Asia from 28 to 30th of April. The NDEs are the national focal points to the CTCN and responsible for the coordination of technical assistance requests to the CTCN. Following the workshop you will have the opportunity to meet the participants (i.e. representatives from national governments, Green Climate Fund, Asian Development Bank, CTCN, CTI PFAN, WIPO etc.) during a cocktail reception held immediately following the workshop.
