Webinar on Newly Approved VCS Methodology for Tidal Wetland and Seagrass Restoration

by

Tidal wetlands are critical to the protection of coastlines against the damaging effects of climate change. They also possess a significant potential for carbon sequestration. Accordingly, restoring lost and degraded wetlands can yield significant climate change adaptation and mitigation benefits.

This methodology, developed by Restore America’s Estuaries and Silvestrum and approved by the Verified Carbon Standard, provides procedures for quantifying and reporting the greenhouse gas emission reductions generated by tidal wetland restoration projects developed anywhere in the world.

Participants on this webinar will:

  • Learn the fundamentals of this new methodology
  • Determine what types of coastal restoration projects will make good carbon projects
  • Gain tips for applying the methodology
  • Gather insight from methodology validators for project approval
